In preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Nigeria Wrestling Federation has commenced a training camp for wrestlers on Wednesday, 29th May 2024, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.   The President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Hon. Daniel Igali said the Federation has the mandate to ensure that Nigerian Wrestlers perform optimally in the Wrestling event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.  "We have a mandate to ensure that we strive for podium finishes  at the Olympics, that’s reason enough to put all machinery in place for optimum performance." Organisers of the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament Season 6, (Prosperity Cup 2024) says it will put together a one-day refresher course for the national referees' council, Bayelsa chapter. South South Zonal Directors have commended the Zonal Representative in the board of Nigeria Table Tennis Federation Ama-Ebi Ebikpolade for building a gigantic table tennis structure in Bayelsa. The South South Zonal Directors gave the commendations during a courtesy call at his facilities in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital. The South South Zonal Directors were led by the chairman of the South South Directors of Sports who doubles as Bayelsa State Director of Sports Sir Braveman Wodi to visit the Table Tennis facility popularly known as "fortress"  According to them, they are pleased with the progress of the facility so far, expressing hope that when the facility is completed many youths in the State would be employed and hunger for table tennis would increase in the State.
