10th Pitch Award: Mizo Puzzled over Nomination.

Former Bayelsa United FC forward, Robert Mizo says he is surprised to be nominated for the striker of the year category in the 10th Nigeria Pitch Award.

Mizo who hails from Imiringi in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, scored 10 goals in the current Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season before joining Al Hilal Sc Benghazi of Liyba for an undisclosed fee in the January transfer window.

The forward, in an interview, said he was surprised to be nominated as striker of the year alongside Napoli SC forward Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen who played a crucial role to his side's triumph in the German Bundesliga.

According to him, he never expected to be nominated in the prestigious Nigeria Pitch Award, noting that the nomination has gladdened his heart and will as well spur him to do more with his Libyan side Al Hilal Sc Benghazi.

Mizo slugged it out with Victor Osimhen of Napoli SC and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen 04 in the Striker of the Category.

The award will take place in Akwa Ibom State at the Ibom Meridien Hotel on Saturday, 8th June, 2024.
