PROSPERITY CUP ORGANISERS TO HOST REFRESHER COURSE FOR BAYELSA STATE REFEREES

Organisers of the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament Season 6, (Prosperity Cup 2024) says it will put together a one-day refresher course for the national referees' council, Bayelsa chapter.

According to a statement issued in Friday by the Director General of the competition, the refresher course which is in partnership with the Bayelsa State Football Association, is aimed at enhancing officiating skills of the referees and equip them with updated information of the game, inline with best global practices.

It said resource persons billed for the seminar include Mr Chukwudi Chukwujekwu (FIFA RTD) and Mrs Felicia Okugbawa  Okonji (FIFA RTD).

The one-day event will have Hon (Dr) Baralatei Daniel Igali, Commissioner for Sports Development as the Special Guest of Honour, while Mrs. Grace Alagoa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports Development, will be the Guests of Honour.

Barr. Poubeni Ogun, the Chairman Bayelsa Football Association will be the Chairman of the Occasion, Mr. Perela Aboroson, Tournament Director, Prosperity Cup Season 6, will serve as the Host of the event, while the Chief Host is Mr Ono K. Akpe, Director General, Prosperity Cup.

Other Special Guests are Mr. Kelechi Mejuobi, Deputy President Nigeria Football Referees Association, and Chief Patimidi Tukuru, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Projects

The one-day refresher course is slated for Saturday 25th May, 2024, at 10am, and will be held at the Earnest Ikoli Press Center.

The People of Umuyota Autonomous Community in Umuawa-Alaocha, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA has reacted to a press release purportedly signed by one imposter named Chikamara Metuh. In a press release signed by Mr. Bright Udeh the Youth President of the Umuokarafor Community, the community where both Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham and High Chief Sonny Uwakwe Nlewedim hails from has advised  members of the public to disregard the so-called press release trying to present the emergence of Chief Sonny Nlewedim as the Eze-Elect of Umuyota Autonomous Community in dispute.
