LESS THAN 24 HOURS TO OWU ELECTION: CONTROVERSY TRAILS OGBONNA NWACHUKWU AS DELEGATES' LIST REMAINS SECRET; ALLEGATIONS OF BIAS AND ELECTION MANIPULATION EMERGE

Image
With less than 24 hours to the November 7, 2026 Ohuhu Welfare Union (OWU) election, serious controversy has continued to trail the Caretaker Committee (CTC), particularly its Secretary, Ogbonna Nwachukwu, over his alleged bias, lack of transparency and handling of the electoral process. Despite the election being just hours away, the CTC Secretary has yet to publicly release the authenticated lists of candidates and delegates. This deliberate withholding of critical electoral information has raised concerns among aspirants and stakeholders about the credibility and fairness of the exercise. More disturbing are allegations that Ogbonna Nwachukwu has secretly made the delegates' list available to his preferred candidates while deliberately keeping the same information away from other contestants and the general membership. Stakeholders allege that this unequal access is part of an attempt to manipulate the electoral process and influence the outcome in favour of candidate...

OWU CTC SECRETARY, OGBONNA NWACHUKWU, MAKES HIMSELF A DEMI-GOD, ABOVE OWU CONSTITUTION, CTC CHAIRMAN AND OHUHU TRADITIONAL RULERS

Image
The unfolding controversy surrounding the forthcoming Ohuhu Welfare Union (OWU) election has exposed what concerned citizens and stakeholders describe as an alarming display of personal authority, disregard for constitutional order and apparent resistance to collective leadership by the Secretary of the Caretaker Committee (CTC), Ogbonna Nwachukwu. At a time when the union desperately needs transparency, fairness and strict adherence to its constitution, Ogbonna Nwachukwu has come under intense criticism over allegations that he has consistently conducted himself as though the OWU Constitution is subordinate to his personal decisions, the CTC Chairman, Rev. Sam Ekeledo, and even the collective wisdom of Ohuhu traditional rulers. The most troubling aspect of the unfolding crisis is the allegation that the CTC Secretary has repeatedly told individuals and some candidates that nobody will tell him what to do, not even the OWU Constitution. If these statements are accurate...
