Team Bayelsa Clinch 2 Gold Medals in Taekwondo at Niger Delta Games

The Gold rush for Team Bayelsa at the 2nd Niger Delta Games began on day one of action with two gold medals in Taekwondo.

Stanley Osajie and Onyimiebi Ere Victoria got the gold medals in the boys and girls events.

Sarah Victor of Team Bayelsa won the opening contest of Boxing event at the 2nd Niger Delta Games in Benin City after her opponent failed clearance on medical grounds.
In an interview shortly after her triumph at the Sports Hall of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, she said her target was to get a podium finish at the Games.

In Handball, Team Bayelsa humiliated Cross River State 39-9 in the girls competition.

Other events are ongoing across different venues in the Edo State capital.
