Prosperity Cup DG Commiserates with Bayelsa Govt, family over D-Gov's Passing

...Says he will be sorely missed

Organisers of the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament, tagged the Prosperity Cup, have commiserated with His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, the government and people of the state, particularly the people of Ofoni Federated Community of Sagbama Local Government Area, over the sudden and untimely demise of His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

A statement by the Director General of the Prosperity Cup Central Organizing Committee, Mr. Ono Akpe, says it received the sad and painful news with shock and disbelief.

The statement notes that the Deputy Governor's untimely demise is not just a loss to his immediate family, the Federated Ofoni Community and Sagbama Local Government Area, but a grave loss to the sporting community, a sector that he supervised as the Deputy Governor, until his passing.

It expresses the most sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Prosperity Cup Organizing Committee to his beloved wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo, the children and members of the immediate family.

According to the statement, it is particularly painful that his demise is coming at a time when his wise counsel is most needed, adding that he will be sorely missed.

The Prosperity Cup family prays that the good Lord will grant his soul eternal rest, and the family, the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss.
