Igali-ama FC Wins Sangana Kingdom Federated Communities Football Tourney

Igali-ama FC have been crowned champions of the Sangana Kingdom Federated Communities Football Tournament among communities in the Kingdom in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Igala-ama FC dethroned the defending champions, Ohiomo-ama FC to lift the trophy sponsored by the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, in a final decided at the Community Secondary School, Sangana.
Igali-ama FC took the lead on 42 minutes from Karamah Daniel's beautiful finish but Moko-Ama restored parity two minutes into the second half when James Warinbo put the ball past Igali-Ama FC goalkeeper to keep his side's hopes intact.
Perfect Akimi on 53 minutes put Igali-Ama FC ahead again with a perfect finish, having controlled the game in the first half. For their effort, Igali-Ama will smile home with the sum of three hundred and fifty thousand Naira (₦350,000), second placed Moko-Ama received one hundred and fifty thousand Naira (₦150,000).
Ohiomo-ama FC, who finished third in the competition went home with the sum of one hundred thousand Naira (₦100,000) only. Austine Inepainmi of Igali-Ama won the highest goal scorer award in the tournament.
Ohiomo-Ama in the third place match hammered Onu-Ama by four goals to nil.
Meanwhile, Tonye Richard of Ohiomo-ama compound in Sangana has emerged champion of the Sangana Kingdom Federated Communities marathon race.
The six kilometers race which started from Aparanbie junction and terminated at the Community Secondary School, Sangana, saw Richard clocking a time of 20 mins 15 secs to come out top against 10 other competitors in the race.
Baranamiegha John of Moko-Ama came second in the race with a time of 21 mins 25 secs in the men's race while Iseilo Javan of Bie-Ama finished third on 22 mins 21 secs.
In the women's category, Godson Maureen of Elege-ama won the ultimate prize with a time of 27 mins 23 secs, Alakere Save of Bie-Ama came second with a time of 28 mins 21 secs, just as Iniye Dough of Ohio-ama came third.
An elated Tonye Richard of Ohiomo-ama compound in an interview, attributed his triumph to continuous training, stating that long distance races are usually his brand of race, adding that he believes he would earn a living from long distance races in the future.
Also, Godson Maureen, a 14-year-old student of Community Secondary School, Sangana, appreciated her supporters for spurring her to victory, pointing out that their support was crucial to her success.
Earlier, there was wrestling and cooking competitions with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Abraham Ingobere, alongside the member representing Brass Constituency One in the House, Hon. Timi Omubo-Agala present at the event.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Barr Uroh Omiekumo Kiani in his remark, asserted that the essence of the tournament was to foster unity among the Sangana Kingdom Federated communities, pointing out that he was pleased with the quality of football showcased by the finalists.
He appreciated the sponsor of the tournament, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, for his immense contribution, describing all the teams that participated in the competition as worthy ambassadors of Sangana Kingdom.
