Mayor Lucky Igbokwe Bags Another Award for Community Development

Prominent businessman, politician, and Chairman of Don Media Group, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (popularly known as Don Lulu), has once again been recognized for his unwavering contributions to community development.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, the people of Uhu-Ezi Ukwu in Umuezerola, Umuawa-Alaocha—Mayor Igbokwe’s maternal home—honoured him with a prestigious award presented at his country home in Umueke-Umuyota, Umuawa-Alaocha.
The event drew a large turnout of men, women, and youths who gathered to celebrate one of their own. They lauded Mayor Igbokwe for his dedication to uplifting his community and for investing significantly in local development, particularly through the establishment of two radio stations: Ikoro 93.3 FM and Don 103.7 FM, both situated in Uhu-Ezi Ukwu.
Describing him as Nwanwa Ukwu (a worthy grandson), the community praised his unwavering affection for his maternal roots, noting that his contributions have had a profound and positive impact. They offered heartfelt prayers for his continued success, asking God to bless and protect him in his ongoing efforts to promote societal growth.

Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Igbokwe’s mother, Dame Peace Igbokwe, who hails from Uhu-Ezi Ukwu, expressed deep gratitude to her kinsmen for the honour bestowed on her son. She described the show of love and solidarity as deeply appreciated by the entire family.
In his response, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe thanked the people of Uhu-Ezi Ukwu for the honour and pledged to do even more for the community. He emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration and solicited their prayers and support as he remains committed to driving positive change and development across society.
