Mayor Igbokwe (Don Lulu) Honoured with Awa Man of the Year Award

H.E. Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), the chairman of Don Media Group, which owns Ikoro 93.3 FM and Don 103.7 FM, has been conferred with the Awa Man of the Year Award by the youth of his community, Umuawa-Alaocha. During the award presentation, in his Umuawa-Alaocha country home, yesterday, Monday, 8th July, 2025,  the Youth President of the community, Hon. Adindu Chizaram, stated that Mayor Igbokwe was chosen for this honour due to his significant investments in the community. These investments have greatly empowered the youth through job creation and have contributed to the overall development of Umuawa-Alaocha. Chizaram expressed the community's gratitude to Mayor Igbokwe for establishing two radio stations, constructing roads, and the nearly completed gas plant. Movers FC of Otuasega moved to top of group D in the ongoing Bayelsa State Football Association League after week two of the tournament taking place in four different centers in the state. Movers FC of Otuasega thrashed Metros FC by four goals to nil to move to the summit of the group having won two straight games against Light FC and Metros FC of Otuoke while Victory Vault FC of Opume in the other group game pipped Endurance Spencer's Emeyal 2 United by a lone goal at the Imiringi Township Stadium. Light FC in the last match of group D edged out Hope Alive FC of Otuoke by three goals to one leaving them hopeless having tested defeat in two consecutive weeks.  Creek FC of Yenagoa at the Bishop Dimeari Grammar School, BDGS centre beat Saturday FC by three goals to two on Friday in group A while Better Days FC and Kingdom Stars FC settled for a one all draw.
