Mayor Of Umuahia North Approves Second Batch Skills Acquisition Program.

We are happy to announce that the Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. High Chief Victor Ikeji, Ph.D. has approved the flag-off of the second batch of the Umuahia North Skills Acquisition Program. 

This program seeks to equip individuals with valuable skills that will empower them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our community.

A total of 120 slots are available for this batch, and interested applicants across the 12 wards of the council are by this notice encouraged to apply for these empowerment opportunity using this link https://forms.gle/ZDFJ1nQgqUZpJpoH9

The skill acquisition program offers six different courses for this batch, which includes:

• Computer Hardware repairs & Networking

 •Carpentry 

  •Welding

 •Cosmetology 

•Event Decoration and

 •Baking & Cake making.

Through these skills acquisition programs, we aim to cater to a diverse range of interests and talents in our community. 

This application is open from today, July 3rd - July 15th, 2024.

We therefore urge all interested individuals to submit their applications promptly using the link provided before the deadline.

Mayor Igbokwe (Don Lulu) Honoured with Awa Man of the Year Award

H.E. Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), the chairman of Don Media Group, which owns Ikoro 93.3 FM and Don 103.7 FM, has been conferred with the Awa Man of the Year Award by the youth of his community, Umuawa-Alaocha. During the award presentation, in his Umuawa-Alaocha country home, yesterday, Monday, 8th July, 2025,  the Youth President of the community, Hon. Adindu Chizaram, stated that Mayor Igbokwe was chosen for this honour due to his significant investments in the community. These investments have greatly empowered the youth through job creation and have contributed to the overall development of Umuawa-Alaocha. Encomiums and accolades have continued to pour in for renowned businessman and Chairman of Don Media Group, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe ( Don Lulu), in recognition of his enduring contributions to community and youth development. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the youths of Ohuhu-Umuahia, led by their Youth President, Chief Uchenna Gavin Iheanacho, conferred on Mayor Igbokwe the prestigious Pillar of the Youth Award.
