The Church is Critical For the Development of Society -- Mayor Ikeji


...Pledges Support For Palm Mill Project

The Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. High-Chief Victor Ikeji, Ph.D, has described the church as a critical component in the development of any society.

The Mayor made this assertion while appearing as a special guest of honor of the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia 3 Deanery, 2024 Deanery Day Celebration held today Saturday 29th June 2024 at the St Michaels Catholic Church, Ugwunchara, Umuahia.

He said, the early churches in Nigeria played a huge role in the socio-economic development of their host communities.
The Umuahia North council boss, applauded the church for initiating a palm oil project. He stated that the Umuahia North is constituted of agrarian communities and, when the project is  completed, it will contribute in no small measure to the palm production within the local government and its environment.
He assured the church of the support of the council to ensure the timely completion of the project.

The Deputy-Mayor, Hon Okechukwu Anthony Amah, the member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Chinasa Abiola Anthony, the Manager of ASEPA, Umuahia Zone, Hon. Catechist Ambrose Jonah, the Secretary to the LGA, Dr. Ifenyiwa Edith Ihuoma and the Chief of Staff, Prince Goodluck Ohazuruike, amongst other aides of the council, attended the event.
