  The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday announced the imminence of a Football Awards that will recognize, celebrate and reward the best players and coaches in the Nigeria game on a monthly basis. Nigeria's biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament tagged Prosperity Cup is gathering more momentum ahead of the commencement of Season 6 with presentation of branded jerseys to stakeholders. The latest stakeholders to be presented the 2024 Prosperity Cup branded jerseys by the organizers of the tournament are the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Irorodamie Komonibo, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor, Hon Gowon Toruyouyei, former Commissioner for Works and commissioner designate ESV Moses Teibowei and Executive Assistant to the Governor, Mrs. Josephine Ketebu. Athletes Primed To Compete For Honours As Fourth Edition Of Michael And Felicia Alabi Memorial National Table Tennis Championship Serves-off.  The air is thick with expectations and tinged  with excitement as table tennis athletes across several cadres from twenty-eight(28) states of the federation have converged on Otan-Aiyegbaju in Osun State for the fourth edition of the Michael And Felicia Alabi Memorial National Table Tennis Championship which will commence on Monday, 22nd April, 2024. The recently upgraded Championship by the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation is slated to hold from 22nd April to 26th April, with over 500 athletes jostling for honours across the events of  men singles, women singles, women doubles and mixed doubles. 43 Girls in Two Weeks National FastPitch Softball Camp in Yenagoa Ahead of Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

  By- Alambo Datonye Fred  In the quest to qualify Nigeria for the Softball event at the 2028 Olympic Games, 43 girls from States across the country are in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State for a fifteen day first phase camping with the second phase scheduled to start in July this year. Baseball and softball are making a return to the Olympics after some years of absence. Both have been added to the programme for the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, along with lacrosse, squash, cricket and flag football, following a vote conducted by the International Olympic Committee in Mumbai, India last year. Baseball and softball were featured on the programme for the 2020 Tokyo Games, returning to the Olympics for the first time since the Beijing Games in 2008. Host Japan won gold medals in both sports. DREAM BOYS FOOTBALL ACADEMY HOSTS ONE-DAY SCOUTING PROGRAM IN ODI

A one-day scouting program has concluded in Odi, a community in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area, of Bayelsa State. According to the organisers, the scouting event is for young talents to be spotted, and nurtured for bigger exploits in the future. Eight teams participated at the scouting program held at the Odi Riverside Stadium, popularly known as the Arena of Dreams, where the young talents didn't hesitate to showcase their God-giving talents to the delight of the scouts and football fans that live within and outside the community of Odi. The clinic had over 200 young and aspiring athletes within the age bracket of 5 and 20 years honing their skills in different track and field events. The cynosure of all eyes was Moses Amalala who won  a triple by clinching gold in the 100m, 200m and 400m in the Under 20 category. Amalala who posted 11.22 secs in the 100 metres for boys was obviously thrilled by his outstanding performance, signifying the birth of a prospective king of the sprints in the future. Over two hundred aspiring athletes across Bayelsa State have begun the journey to stardom and self actualization in track and field as a two day Athletics Clinic got underway in Yenagoa. The Clinic which is at the instance of the SamKay Athletics Academy in synergy with the Bayelsa State Athletics Association has young athletes within the ages of 6 and 20 years participating in various events from sprints, middle and long distances as well as field events. Stage Set for Two-Day SamKay Athletics Academy Clinic for Young Athletes in Bayelsa

Hundreds of aspiring young track and field athletes within the ages of 6 and 20 are set to take part in a two day athletics clinic in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital. Organised by the SamKay Athletics Academy in partnership with the Bayelsa State Athletics Association,the clinic will take place at the Main Bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Yenagoa between Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd of April, 2024 to expose young athletes to track and field events. A statement by the organisers say time for the event is 8am to 12 Noon daily. The clinic will feature talks on rudiments of athletics, nutrition and benefits of sports to economic well-being. Parents of interested athletes are encouraged to allow their children and wards participate in the sessions under experienced athletics coaches.
