Stage Set for Two-Day SamKay Athletics Academy Clinic for Young Athletes in Bayelsa

Hundreds of aspiring young track and field athletes within the ages of 6 and 20 are set to take part in a two day athletics clinic in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

Organised by the SamKay Athletics Academy in partnership with the Bayelsa State Athletics Association,the clinic will take place at the Main Bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Yenagoa between Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd of April, 2024 to expose young athletes to track and field events.

A statement by the organisers say time for the event is 8am to 12 Noon daily.

The clinic will feature talks on rudiments of athletics, nutrition and benefits of sports to economic well-being.

Parents of interested athletes are encouraged to allow their children and wards participate in the sessions under experienced athletics coaches.

School Principals and Games Masters are also expected to encourage  young talented athletes discovered during their various inter-house sports to participate.

SamKay Athletics Academy is committed to revolutionizing track and field events in Bayelsa State by building future national and world champions.

The People of Umuyota Autonomous Community in Umuawa-Alaocha, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA has reacted to a press release purportedly signed by one imposter named Chikamara Metuh. In a press release signed by Mr. Bright Udeh the Youth President of the Umuokarafor Community, the community where both Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham and High Chief Sonny Uwakwe Nlewedim hails from has advised  members of the public to disregard the so-called press release trying to present the emergence of Chief Sonny Nlewedim as the Eze-Elect of Umuyota Autonomous Community in dispute. According to Mr Udeh "I am the youth president of Umuokarafor, who was unanimously elected by the entire youths of Umuokarafor, Mr. Chikamara Metuh, is not a youth president, nor an executive in Umuokarafor or Umuyota".
