SamKay Athletics Academy to Organize 2-Day Clinic for Young Athletes

-- Event to Hold April 2 & 3 in Yenagoa 

SamKay Athletics Academy is set to partner  the Bayelsa State Athletics Association to a 2-Day Athletics Clinic for young athletes within the ages of 6 and 20 years.

The athletics programme is billed for the Main Bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Yenagoa between Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd of April, 2024 to expose young people to track and field events.

The time is 9am to 12 Noon daily.

The clinic will feature talks on rudiments of athletics, nutrition and benefits of sports to economic well-being.

Parents of interested athletes are encouraged to allow their children and wards participate in the sessions under experienced coaches.

School Principals and Games Masters are also expected to encourage  young talented athletes discovered during their various inter-house sports to participate.

SamKay Athletics Academy is committed to revolutionizing track and field events in Bayelsa State by building future national and world champions.

Mayor Igbokwe (Don Lulu) Honoured with Awa Man of the Year Award

H.E. Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), the chairman of Don Media Group, which owns Ikoro 93.3 FM and Don 103.7 FM, has been conferred with the Awa Man of the Year Award by the youth of his community, Umuawa-Alaocha. During the award presentation, in his Umuawa-Alaocha country home, yesterday, Monday, 8th July, 2025,  the Youth President of the community, Hon. Adindu Chizaram, stated that Mayor Igbokwe was chosen for this honour due to his significant investments in the community. Encomiums and accolades have continued to pour in for renowned businessman and Chairman of Don Media Group, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe ( Don Lulu), in recognition of his enduring contributions to community and youth development.
