BAYELSA SWAN SETS UP ELECTIVE CONGRESS

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Bayelsa Chapter, on Thursday constituted a four-man Electoral Committee, SWANECO with a charge to ensure  peaceful election next year.

The Eleco was formed during its congress held at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre in Yenagoa on Thursday.

The four-man elective committee has Tommie Amaegbe of Rhythm FM 94.7 as  Chairman, Okioma Aherhoke of Daily Times as member, Timinepre Ohia of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) as member, while Patrick Ndubuisi of DAAR Communications Plc (Raypower/AIT) will serve as Secretary.

Chairman, Bayelsa Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Alambo Datonye Fred, commended the association for standing tall and supporting his administration in the past six years, and called on them not to relent in their job of promoting sporting activities in the state and beyond.


He charged the Eleco to begin the process to conduct election to usher in a new executive for Bayelsa SWAN on or before January 31, 2024.

In an acceptance speech, Chairman of the Elective Congress, Mr. Tommie Amaegbe, expressed gratitude to the association for finding them worthy of the assignment.

Mr. Amaegbe who was represented by the Eleco Secretary, Mr Patrick Ndubuisi, assured that the election will be free, fair, and acceptable to all.

The Bayelsa SWAN election is expected to hold by January, 2024.
