The Battle for Supremacy Continues In Bayelsa State Governor's Cup.


    ****As Competition Enters Quarter Final With Interesting Fixtures

The battle to clinch the 11 million naira prize in the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament tagged "Prosperity Cup" is getting intense by the day.

A total of 26 goals were scored in the round of 16 in Nigeria's biggest grassroots football showpiece in eight games decided across three centers.

De Grace FC raised their hopes of winning the Prosperity Cup as they slaughtered Biseni United, triumphing 8-1 over their opponents who earlier enjoyed a 4-0 victory over Ogbia side, Okodi FC.

Crusaders Feeders FC also had a smooth sail at the Samson Siasia Stadium , overpowering Ogbo United of Ikibiri 4-1 while Bayelsa United Feeders also progressed to the round 16 ahead Shegbelegbe FC who disqualified for featuring an ineligible player in their squad.

Dream Academy FC on Thursday at the Samson Siasia Stadium ended Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ FC dreams of winning of the Prosperity Cup with a 3-1 victory goals from Pere Ebiwari on 27 minutes, Peremene Bright on 48 minutes and Akali Murphy on 70 minutes to secure passage for Dream Academy FC.

At the Niger Delta University, Amassoma center on Friday Ayisco FC of Ogboinbiri pipped Oporama FC 1-0 while in the Eastern derby on Saturday, Movers FC of Otuasega failed to advance e as Odioma United got the ticket  to the  quarter finals.



The game decided on Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa saw Agbere FC progress at the expense of  Ofoni United 4-2 in penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time as Dream Boys FC of Odi outscored Akenfa FC 3-0.

Quarter final matches return on Thursday in the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament.

According to the fixtures,  Crusader Feeders FC of Peretorugbene will face Bayelsa United Feeders FC.

Agbere FC of Sagbama on Friday will keep a date with Ayisco FC of Ogboinbiri at 1pm while Saturday  features a battle of Dreams as  Dreams Academy School FC engage Dream Boys Academy of Odi by  1pm.

Last year's finalists, Odioma United of Brass will confront De Grace FC of Yenagoa on Sunday by by 3pm.
