Prosperity Cup: Biseni United Humiliates Okodi FC To Secure Round 16 Slot

Biseni United on Friday took control of their round of 32 tie against Okodi FC of Ogbia in the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup with a comfortable 4-0 victory in an encounter decided at the Swali centre.

A brace by Celeb Eze on 33 minutes and 46 minutes and Joseph Fobai on 51 as well as a free kick from Tonny Akpagka on 59 was all Biseni United needed to progress to the round of 16 of Nigeria's biggest grassroots football.

In the other game at the Swali centre, De Grace FC trounced Amassoma United 3-1 to secure a smooth passage to the round of 16 having scored 10-0 against Yenegwe FC in the preliminary round.

At the Nembe centre, last year finalist Odioma United scored two first half goals to book a place in the round of 16, two quick goals from John Bassey on 36 minutes and 37 minute gave the seasiders a 2-1 victory over Apret FC of Imringi.

Joel Enegesi's heroic saves moved Movers FC of Otuasega into the next round with a 4-3 victory  on Penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw in the regulation time against Moses FC of Sangana at the Nembe centre in what could be described as the eastern derby.

Joel Enegesi saved two penalties to keep his Otuasega side into the tournament having conceded first. Samson Owei had given Moses FC the lead on 8 minute before Godgift Okilo's leveller on 55 minutes.

Hostilities will return tomorrow in the round of 32 of the Bayelsa State Governor's Football Tournament as Shegbelegbe FC welcomes Igbogene FC by 8am at the Samson Siasia Stadium while high flying Bayelsa Feeders will keep a date with Ayamalem FC by 10am.

Ogbo United of Ikibiri will square off with Ogbolo FC at 1pm as tournament discovery Everton Academy of Ikolo battles Crusaders Feeders FC of Peretorugbene by 3pm at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
