Political Thugs, Intimidation, Arrest Of Delegates Beclouds Lagos FA Elections: Delegates Seeks NFF Intervention.

As Lagos State Football stakeholders prepare to vote in the upcoming Lagos Football Association Elections, some Stakeholders and delegates have warned the former APC Secretary Fouad Oki and his allies not to see the exercise as a do-or-die affair.

This warning became necessary after series of Intimidation and bullying were witnessed at the last LFA divisional elections, held last week, where delegates were arrested by the Chairman of the Lagos Coaches association, a well known loyalist of Fouad Oki.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Coaches Association, brought in fake Policemen to arrest some delegates unjustly, alongside some well known sponsored political thugs, thereby causing havoc and mayhem, which disrupted the ongoing exercise.

"This is very unacceptable, it is a big shame that an election meant to go on peacefully, was disrupted by political thugs and nonnentities.

"It is rather unfortunate that things like this have become a norm in our society. Football is a peaceful game, one of the reasons FIFA frowns at Government interference.

"Football politics shouldn't be do or die and with what we are seeing here in Lagos, I am afraid we are in for big irregularities in the main elections.

It was  also not  different during the screening exercise for the candidates into the Lagos FA board as political thugs littered the venue with intimidation and other vices employed to make sure that their candidate a green horn in football scaled through.

The chairman and members of the electoral committee felt the heat as thugs freely had access to them insulting, intimidating and  displaying aggressive acts of threats.

"We are calling on the apex body of football in Nigeria, the NFF to look into this matter, because there are intelligence reports that they have concluded plans to even do more irregularities during the proper elections nextweek. It shouldn't be encouraged in anyway.

The Lagos FA Elections will hold on May 24th, at a yet to be decided venue in Lagos State.
