Lagos FA Can't Be Handed Over To A Greenhorn - Top Stakeholder Warns Delegates Against 'Serious' Football Setback.
Ahead of the 2023 Lagos Football Association (LFA) elections, a major Stakeholder of the Football body has said delegates and football loving Lagosians cannot afford to give their votes to a candidate known to be a 'Greenhorn'.
The top Stakeholder made the assertion while addressing a meeting which heralds the Lagos Divisional Football Association Elections, which will come up today, Wednesday, May 17 2023 at the secretariat of the Lagos State Football Association, Surulere.
According to him, the Lagos FA needs an experienced hand to run its affairs and not someone, who will only come down newly to learn the trade of football administration.
He described the former Lagos APC Secretary, Fouad Oki, as a football tyro, who will bring a serious setback to the development of the round leather game in the State and also stating that, it is criminal for some set of people to try and want to use the Government machinery's to put the elections in disarray and also cause a major interference, without the consent of his Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, which is totally against the ethics of the World governing football body, FIFA.
"Experience is very important, when it comes to football development. We must avoid the mistakes made by some other states, which led to backwardness in football development. It is too risky for Lagosians to hand over the future of football to a greenhorn, who knows little or nothing about the game.
"There is serious need for caution and I urge every delegates to vote for a candidate who has the experience, connections and good understanding of the challenges bedeviling the Lagos FA.
Two major candidates will be vying for the post of the Lagos State Football Association Chairmanship position, former APC secretary in the State, Fouad Oki and former Nigeria Referee Association (NRA), President Alhaji Tade Azeez, meanwhile, the Lagos State Divisional Football Association Elections will come up today, Wednesday, May 17th 2023 at the Secretariat of the Lagos State Football Association, Surulere.
