NPL Preview: Bayelsa United vs Lobi Stars FC

After recording an impressive 2-1 away win over Wikki Tourist of Bauchi, Bayelsa United will now turn attention against table topping group B leader's, Lobi Stars FC of Markurdi at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa in Matchday Fourteen of the Nigeria Premier League.

Having not had an impressive Start during the first round of the abridged 2023 Nigeria Premier League season, The "Prosperity Boys" are now on a good run of form after their first consecutive victories of the season.

Coach Diepreye Teibowei's tutored side will definitely be confident of making it three victories in a row as they seek to continue their push towards safety.

For Bayelsa United, they will be relying once on star striker Mizo Robert who has scored an impressive 9-goals all from open play this season as they seek to record another victory. After an underwelming start to the season, Bayelsa United are now playing with confidence, with the likes of Alex Oyowah, Stephen Wisdom, mid-season signing Alex Jerry pulling the strings in the midfield and dictating play which has seen them record back-to-back victories.

For group B leader's Lobi Stars, winning is all that matters in this encounter as they seek to consolidate on the top and make the super six at the end of the season.

Coach Muhammad BabaGanaru's men have really been impressive this season especially as they have been playing away from home all season and recorded another outstanding victory against defending champions, Rivers United mid-week in a rescheduled game.

If Bayelsa United are to record another home victory then they must make sure to keep Lobi Stars top scorers of the season Umar Abba who has scored six goals quiet during the game.

Both sides are surely confident of picking all three points coming into this encounter and we expect an entertaining performance from both teams. A win for either team will surely be a boost to them in their respective quest for the season.

The People of Umuyota Autonomous Community in Umuawa-Alaocha, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA has reacted to a press release purportedly signed by one imposter named Chikamara Metuh. In a press release signed by Mr. Bright Udeh the Youth President of the Umuokarafor Community, the community where both Mr. Adimchinobi Abraham and High Chief Sonny Uwakwe Nlewedim hails from has advised  members of the public to disregard the so-called press release trying to present the emergence of Chief Sonny Nlewedim as the Eze-Elect of Umuyota Autonomous Community in dispute.
