The first round of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) abridged season may have come to an end over the weekend but for Bayelsa United and Rivers United it's a chance to end the first round on a winning note in this rescheduled fixture.

Bayelsa United come into the game looking to pick positives going into the second round of the season after a poor start to the season which has seen them bottom of the table in group B with Just seven points.

For Coach Diepreye Teibowei, he will be hoping that his side can finally put their scoring boots on after  lots of missed chances in their last Match which saw them drop further points in their match against Enugu Rangers.

The pressure is surely on the Prosperity Boys as they seek to salvage there season and remain in the top flight and will be hoping to take a huge step towards survival by winning against their neighbours, Rivers United.

For Rivers United, they come into this game after their CAF Confederations cup win over Ivorian side Asec Mimosas and will be confident of getting a victory against their Rivals.

The Pride of Rivers who are the defending champions of the league and currently fourth on the log with thirteen points they would certainly want to end the first stanza of the league on a high and winning against their neighbours will surely be the best platform.

It's sure going to be fireworks at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa as both teams look to get one over their rivals and maintain there push upward on the log.

For bayelsa United it's all about halting a run of five straight games without a win while Rivers United hope to return to winning ways after defeat in their last league outing.
