NSF 2022: 264 Bayelsa Athletes, Officials Depart for South-South Elimination In Uyo

Ahead of the 21st National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State slated for November 28 to December 10, 2022 Team Bayelsa on Monday arrived Uyo Akwa Ibom state capital for zonal elimination for team sports.

The zonal elimination for team sports began from 2nd and will end on 7th October 2022 among athltes from Rivers, Akwa Ibom,Cross River, Bayelsa, Edo apart from host Delta States to qualify for the National Sports Festival.
Team Bayelsa State contingent of about 264 athletes and officials led by Director of Sports Bayelsa State Sports Council Sir Braveman Wodi departed the state capital in high spirit and with great expectations of impressive performance as recorded in the previous outing in Benin City, Edo State.

The contingent will be going into the elimination series with the hope of replicating the feat achieved in the National Sports Festival in Benin City, Edo State with seven sports of both male and female excluding Volleyball which have only female team.

Bayelsa who had a podium finish in the 20th National Sports Festival will participate in Handball, Volleyball, Beach Volleyball/ Softball, Hockey, Football and Basketball.
