GRASOF APPOINTS NEW PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER
Foremost national grassroot sports organisers, the Grassroot Sports Federation of Nigeria, GRASOF, has appointed the Head of Sports Department, Raypower 102.5 FM, Yenagoa, Mr Patrick Ndubuisi, as it's new Public Relations Officer, PRO.
The decision was taken by the executive of the national body at the weekend.
In a statement signed by its President, Comrade John Ekpeyong, and it's Organising Secretary, Coach Ada Gwegwe, said the Bayelsa-based journalist, Mr Ndubuisi was selected following his contributions to sports development over the years through his objective coverage and reportage of sporting activities in the Niger Delta and the country at large.
The statement reads, "We the Grassroot Sports Federation of Nigeria, GRASOF, having carefully followed your activities and personality as a sports journalist, are glad to inform you, Mr. Patrick Ndubuisi, that you have been appointed to serve in the capacity of National Public Relations Officer, PRO."
"Our decision to bring you on board was informed by your passion and support for grassroot sporting activities, both in your base in Bayelsa and other parts of the country, which in most occasion have been selfless and strictly committed to promoting the sporting sector."
"Moreso, your dedication and commitment at the first ever edition of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, U-17 Peace Cup football competition which climaxed in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital last year, where you wrote several press releases for us that went far and wide even without a formal engagement, and also anchored the opening and closing ceremonies to the acknowledgement of all, has proven beyond all reasonable doubt, that you can deliver the goods when properly and formally inducted into the body."
"The National Executive of the Grassroot Sports Federation of Nigeria, hereby congratulate you on this achievement, and welcome you onboard, as we hope that you will continue to avail to us your wealth of experience in public affairs and in further promotion of the activities of GRASOF."
"We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting, which will be your maiden meeting as a national executive."
Mr Patrick Ndubuisi is currently the Head of Sports Department and Head of News and Current Affairs, Raypower FM Yenagoa, and has been in the profession spanning over ten years, with several awards to his credit.
The Imo State-born journalist cum sports writer has also written several published articles promoting the sector, and has been part of several committees of sporting programs and events in Bayelsa State, where he is based.
The wide traveled Media Practitioner is the Media Officer of the biggest grassroot football event in Nigeria, the Bayelsa Governor's Football Competition, popularly known as the Prosperity Cup. He was the pioneer Media Officer of George Turnah Football Club, and was equally in charge of Media and Publicity of the Bet9ja Bayelsa Super League, amongst others.
