Cabo Pre Season Champions Emerges, Bayelsa United Chairman Appreciate Sponsors

The maiden edition of the Cabo Pre season football tournament has come to an end with Team Yellow emerging champions of the two day event at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
The Adaka Boro boys as nicknamed spanked their opponent Team White by 6-2 having settled for a 1-1 draw at halftime.
A brace from Joshua Uge, Robert Mizo as well as goals from Douye Golden and experience midfielder Bina Tombiri ensured that team yellow smiled home with the trophy.
Joshua Uge produced a composed performance scoring two wonderful goals for his side, a display that earned him the man of match award.
The tournament which was organised by Cabo Construction Limited, the company that rehabilitated the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa had Bayelsa United players divided into three with Dreams Boys FA making four teams.
The tournament came days after the postponement of the Nigeria National League NNL super four in Yenagoa due to the ravaging flood that has displaced homes in the state.
Assessing the level of progress made in the tournament, Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei said the the tournament became imperative due to the postponement of the NNL Super Four and the devastating flood that has displaced homes in the state.
He noted that the tournament has brought a healthy competition among the players with some players showing great promises ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL season.
Chairman of Bayelsa United Mr. Ebiki Timitimi noted that he was overwhelmed by Cabo's show of love for Bayelsa United, pointing out that the showpiece was timely as a result of the psychological effect the flood has brought among Bayelsans.
Mr. Timitimi pointed out that the Cabo Pre season tournament has shown that no one can be guaranteed first team shirt in Bayelsa United, describing the competition as a welcome development.
He commended the sports facility construction giants for providing palliatives to Bayelsans to ameliorate the sufferings of people in this trying moment in the State.
Also, Chief Executive Officer Cabo Construction Limited Mr Taiwo Babalola represented by Engr. Olutoye Adeboye, asserted that the essence of the tournament was to bring people together, prepare for the new season as well as provide sports entertainment to football lovers in the state.
He also promised an improved Cabo pre season tournament next year with NPFL sides involved in the competition and described the tournament as successful.
The highpoint of the tournament was the presentation of palliatives to over two hundred supporters of Bayelsa United donated by Cabo construction company.
