A one day cricket clinic tagged South-South Summer Slam, Season Three will hold in Yenagoa on Friday.

Secretary of the Bayelsa Cricket Association, Kenneth Richard told Sports Journalists in an interview that the cricket event would feature about 150 students from secondary schools selected across the State.

Kenneth Richard appreciated the President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Mr. Uyi Akpata for the initiative and presenting starter packs to beginners as well as for the tremendous support.

He stated that the past two editions had produced some hidden talents, naming two in particular, Bright Moron and Goodness Gaius who stirred the State team to emerge winners in regional competitions.

The Secretary of the Bayelsa Cricket Association said a major challenge militating against the development of cricket in the State was the absence of facilities.

He appealed to the government, the corporate world and well meaning individuals to support the growth of cricket through the provision of cricket ovals and other forms of support.
