Winners Emerge in Indoors Games of Bayelsa NUJ Press Week

After two days of competition, winners have been crowned in four indoor games held as part of activities to mark the 2022 Press Week of the Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Lawrence Berezi of Creek FM beat all comers to clinch top prize in the Chess competition, edging Stanley Imgbi of Information Chapel while Kingsley Abidde of Radio Bayelsa finished 3rd.

George Ameli of the Niger Delta Television clinched first position in Scrabble with a total score of 319, beating Max Egba of Information Chapel who scored 278 points to the top prize while Alambo Datonye of Federated Correspondents Chapel took 3rd position.
Jacobson Park of People's FM topped other contenders to win the Ludo event, pipping Priye Roberts of Radio Bayelsa in a tight final that ended two games to one as Amaebi Alamene of Information Chapel settled for 3rd spot.

Earlier on Monday, Sunday Tarabina of Information Chapel won the Draught event while Fiezibe Osain also of Information Chapel took second position as John Odey of United Correspondents Chapel was third.

About 35 Journalists participated in the four events of Chess, Scrabble, Ludo and Draughts as arrangements are in place for the commencement of a Table Tennis tournament on Friday.

Presenting cash Prizes to the various winners, Chairman of the State Council of the NUJ, Samuel Numonengi gave thumbs up to Journalists for taking active part in the Indoor Games.
