The 2022/2023 Premier League Season Is Here, Crystal Palace vs Arsenal Herald The Opening Weekend

The 2022/23 Premier League season will be a season like no other we have experienced.. It'll literally be played in two halves as a result of the World Cup in Qatar. 

Analyst, Egeonu Ifeanyichukwu takes a look at the first game of the season between Crystal Palace vs Arsenal at the Selhurst Park.

The season kicks-off this Friday(today) night with Arsenal travelling to Selhurst Park to face a Crystal Palace side who last season, at the same venue, under the floodlights, walloped the Gunners 3-0.
Mikel Arteta's men look like they've had a really good pre-season and look like they are all happy & energized, which is key.
The signings Arsenal have made so far, has got them upbeat and rejuvenated. 

Gabby Jesus arrives with a point to prove because he's always been in the shadow a bit at City.. He's the main man now & I expect him to blossom in this Arsenal team having worked under Arteta at Arsenal, and clearly understands his role in the team.. He can pass on the experience on what it takes to be successful in the Premier League & make Arsenal competitive this season.

A lot of people are concerned about Arsenal's opening fixture at Palace as Patrick Vieira has got the Eagles playing in the true sense of his own.. Palace will be a really tough game in a white-hot atmosphere. If Arsenal can match that fight in their first test, it'll be  massive for the entirety of the season.

In the same vein, I'm not sure Crystal Palace are the same threat now Conor Gallagher has gone back to Chelsea, while Arsenal are made of sterner stuff now - certainly buoyed by the additions of Premier League winners Oleksandr Zinchenko & Gabriel Jesus.

It's still a tough game for Mikel Arteta's side, but everything is towards a Gunners win.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal
