CAF Women's Champions League WAFU Zone-B Qualifiers: Five-star Bayelsa Queens Thumps Athleta Ladies FC

Reigning NWFL Champions and Nigeria's representative at the ongoing WAFU Zone-B CAF women's champions league Qualifiers Sunday at the Stade de Yamoussoukro in Ivory Coast thrashed Togolese women's champions to kick starts their Qualifiers in group B.

Bayelsa Queens started on the front foot at the start of the game and went ahead courtesy of left back, Miracle Joseph in the 5th minutes.

Just two minutes after the first goal, striker Etim Edidiong double her sides lead in the 7th minutes.

Athleta Ladies FC were able to keep the rampaging Bayelsa Queens from scoring more goals in the remaining minutes of the  first half as it ended 2-0 at half time.

Bayelsa Queens Queens came out blazing in the second half and scored three more goals courtesy of star striker of the day Etim Edidiong in 64th, 76th and 79th minutes to give her side a 5-0 victory at full time.

With the victory, the Prosperity Girls as they nicknamed are now top of their group on goal difference after Ampem Darkoa FC of Ghana had defeated U.S FA of Burkina Faso 3-0 earlier in the day.

Bayelsa Queens will play Apem Darkoa Ladies FC on Wednesday in their second group game of the competition.
