Prosperity Cup: Bayelsa State Government Urges Youth To Discover their Talents

Bayelsa State Government has urged  Youths in the state to take advantage of the numerous platforms being provided by the present administration to discover their talents.

 Governor Douye Diri made the remark at the closing ceremony of the 2022  Bayelsa Governor's Cup, christened 'Prosperity Cup' at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

The governor gave an assurance that state would continue to encourage youths of the state to discover their  talents in various fields.

The governor noted that Bayelsa state is now the hub of sports in the country, stressing that youths of the state should take advantage of it and discover their talents.

The Chief Executive officer of the state also advised the youths to stay away from illegal drugs businesses, consumption and bad attitudes but focus on discovering their talents as the state government will continue to support them.

Meanwhile, the governor also used the opportunity to call on private individuals and MultiNational Companies to support sport development in the state. 

The governor added that there was abundant budding talents in the state and as such the multinational companies need to support sport development in the state.

The largest grassroots football tournament in Nigeria came to an end on Tuesday evening as Eternal Grace Ministry (EGM) Football Club of Yenagoa emerged champions of the 2022 Bayelsa Governor's cup, tagged, "Prosperity Cup.

In the final played at the main bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, EGM FC came from a goal down to beat Odioma FC of Brass 2-1.

 Onyema Ben and Stephen Harry were the scorers for EGM FC late in the game, while Ayibakepreye Kumolayefa registered the only goal for Odioma F.C of Brass in the first half.

Agbere FC of Sagbama LGA had earlier in the day won the 3rd placed after a 3-2 win over Ayama FC of Ogbia LGA.
