Dreams Football Academy of Yenagoa on Saturday at the University of Nigeria Nsukka Enugu Campus (UNEC) bowed out gallantly of the 2022 Aiteo Federation Cup after  a 2-1 defeat to top flight side, Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna.

Dreams Football Academy started on the game on a strong footing and should have been ahead as early as the 4th minutes when Ebi Peter got a loose ball from Tornadoes defender but shoot straight at Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper.

With no meaningful action as dreams FA continued to match Tornadoes, in the 14 minutes Niger Tornadoes where awarded a penalty after a clumsy defending from Dreams FA but Gas Gbansele made a wonderful save to deny Tornadoes from taking the lead via penalty.

Niger Tornadoes stepped up there game as they took control of the game and got two quick goals courtesy of Shamsudeen Ashimu in the 27 and 29 minutes as they took a 2-0 Lead at half time.

At the start of the second half, Dreams FA had two opportunities to get themselves back into the game, first it was a cross for a freekick which dreams FA attacker failed to connect in the 46 minutes before another shot which the goalkeeper of tornadoes was able to save.

The Yenagoa based side will continue to have more of the possession while tornadoes looked threatening on the counter attack and defended very well giving there opponents no real opportunities.

Dreams FA control of the game eventually payed-off in the 72nd minutes as Owugha tonyemiete scored to bring themselves back into the game.

It will be a nerve ending last twenty minutes as dreams FA pushed for the equalizer, first it was a penalty claim which the referee waved play on in the 80th minutes before a deflected shot which hit the post of tornadoes in the 85th minutes.

The Niger based side defended astutely in the remaining minutes of the game to win 2-1 at full time and advanced to the next round.

Speaking after the game, Coach of Dreams FA, Kenneth Opukeme who was disappointed with the results said his side played a good game against an experience side but only lost due to lack of concentration at the defense  in the first half while victorious coach of Niger Tornadoes, Abubaka bala said his side relax after the first half and allowed there opponents to come into the game but they were able to hold onto the win.
