Bayelsa's Samuel Boboye Wins Gold In ITTF Africa U-19 Championship

Samuel Boboye of Bayelsa state has won gold with Team Nigeria at the ongoing International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) U-19 African Championship in Tunisia.

Boboye alongside Mati Taiwo and Muiz Adegoke defeated Egypt 3-1 in the final on Saturday evening to clinch gold at the  ITTF U-19 Championship in Tunisia.

Boboye who hails from Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State is the captain of Table Tennis Association, Bayelsa State. 

He started playing Table Tennis in 2016. 

Boboye has been a cadet champion of Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, NTTF. In May 2021, he was in Tunisia for the World Table Tennis Youth Star Contender.

The ongoing ITTF U-19 African Junior Championship  (boys and girls) which ends on July 27 serves as a warm-up competition for the World Championship scheduled to take place also in Tunisia next December.It also allows players from Africa to secure tickets to represent the continent.
