Aiteo Cup: Joshua Uge's Lone Strike Takes Dream FA To Next Round

Dreams Football Academy of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State are through to the next round of the 2022 Aiteo cup following a 50th minutes  lone strike by  Joshua Uge against Police Crime Bursters FC of Portharcourt in the preliminary round.

The match which was played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba Delta State saw dreams football academy took control of early proceedings as they went in search of an early goal.

Dreams Football Academy early possession created few opportunities but the unsettled attack of the Coach Kenneth Opukeme Tutored side  missed two clear goal bound chances  in quick succession, first in the 5th minutes while the second in the 6th minutes of play.

Police Crime Bursters FC continued to defend astutely as dreams football academy continued to pressure for the opening goal  while offering some threats on the counter.

In the 33rd minutes of play, police crime bursters thought they had taken a lead only for there close range attempt to go over the bar.

With little or no meaningful action in the remaining minutes, the first half ended goalless.

The second half started almost in the same vain as dreams Football Academy continued to have more of the possession as they searched for the opening goal of the encounter.

Dreams Football Academy continued dominance in the game  eventually payed-off in the 50th minutes when a well worked team freekick caught the defense of police crime bursters fc ball-watching as Joshua Uge was on hand to score and give his side the lead.

The game later witnessed  missed chances from both teams as 

Police Crime Bursters FC stepped up there game as they went in search of an equalizer but dreams Football Academy defended gallantly to claim the victory at full time.

Speaking after the game, coach of dreams Football Academy, Kenneth Opukeme gave kudos to his team for the victory adding that they were the better side on the day and deserved to win.

While the coach of police crime bursters fc, Douye  Ghomorai said that they played very well but where unlucky not to take there chances.

The Victorious Bayelsa State team will now face Niger Tornadoes of Minna in the next face of the Nigeria Aiteo Cup competition, this Saturday.
