 PROSPERITY CUP: Agbayama FC Of Ekeremor Talk Tough After Quarter Final Qualification....

Officials and players of Agbayama Fc of Ekeremor say they will go all out to win this years' Bayelsa State Governor's Cup tagged "Prosperity Cup".

Agbayama Fc beat Akaba Fc of Yenagoa 2-0 in one of the quarter final of the Prosperity Cup decided at the Kaiama centre.

Speaking shortly after their triumph against Akaba Fc, team coordinator Mr.Akeme Moses commended the sponsors of the tournament for giving youths in the state a platform to showcase their talents especially players in the rural areas.

Mr. Moses noted that the team's primary target was to win the trophy for the first time having qualified for the quarter final of the showpiece.

Head coach of the team, Abenji Tony, said he was elated to take part in the tournament, stating that his dreams after the competition is to see Agbayama community players play in Europe and other top leagues in Africa.

Also Agbayama Fc captain Apena George said prior to the Prosperity Cup, football was far from the people but the tournament has brought back the lost glory to Agbayama community .

George explained that their ultimate goal for the fiesta was to create awareness that there are bundle of talents in Agbayama community and Ekeremor LGA that can play anywhere in the world, stressing that football is in rural areas and not urban areas.

Also, assistant captain of Agbayama Fc,  Michael John appealed to the organizers to make the tournament a yearly event in  order to  discover more  talents as well as keep youths away from crime.

In the meantime,Anyama Fc of Ogbia have qualified for the quarter final of the Prosperity Cup; Anyama Fc whitewashed Agoro Fc of  Southern Ijaw 6-0 at the Opolo centre, Yenagoa.
