Administration Is Our Major Problem In Football ----- South South Zone Must Be United To Have A Board Member Of Their Choice In The NFF - Singabele

Former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Peter Singabele has said that lack of  proper administrative mechanism is the reason why our football has not grown to the level it supposed to be. Speaking on the heels of the controversies about the forthcoming Nigeria Football Federation executive committee elections expected to hold in September, 


Singabele, currently, a CAF medical committee member said that Nigeria and indeed Nigerians love football, that football is just like our food but that the game is not speedily growing the way Nigerians expect because of several administrative impediments.


He noted that in  developed countries football actually is capital intensive and big business  because the administration of the game is done according to laid down rules,which is none existence.


According to him, the reason why football is not growing is that in Nigeria, people are more interested in what gets to their pockets rather than fashion a developmental milestones.


The former NFF executive board member also said that one of the reasons why our football has not grown is that we have continued to depend largely on already identified talents in Europe and elsewhere whereas there are abundant of talents in the interiors of the country.


He recalled when he was a member of the NFF, a former coach of the Super Eagle's, Lass Lagerback told the board that the country was blessed with talents but the problem was the administration and management of the game. Nigeria can produce a dependable world cup team but the missing link is the administrative mechanism.


Dr Peter Singabele acknowledged that if the country is able to harness talents properly then the country will be great in terms of football.


Meanwhile, Dr Peter Singabele who is the current chairman Bayelsa Civil Service commission also used the opportunity to talk about the lack of unity in the south south zone as regarding vying for positions in the NFF.


According to him, he believed people have their own different way of doing things but believes in the principle of unity, togetherness for sports and generally football, that there is not enough unity in the south south zone but it's not too late as the zone can still come together.


He concluded by saying that it's only when there is unity in the south south and that is when the zone can talk about having a board member of their choice in the NFF.
