By--- Alambo Datonye Fred Ahead of Elections to choose leaders to pilot the affairs of the Bayelsa State Football Association for a new term, two new Committees, the Electoral and Appeals Committees have been constituted. According to the list made known at the 2023 Annual General Assembly of the Bayelsa State Football Association, held in Yenagoa, the Electoral Committee is headed by Mr. Zuzu Ebimotimi Noel as Chairman, Nwankwe Diseye Laye is to serve as Secretary and Anthony Blessing, Co-Secretary. The Appeals Committee is led by Chief Patimidi Roland Tukuru as Chairman and  Barrister Diseye Gbefa as Secretary.  Based on the Timetable released for the Election, Sales and Nomination of Forms is scheduled for 23rd May to 2nd June, 2023 as Screening of Candidates will take place on 5th June, 2023 while publication of list of candidates holds on 6th June, 2023. Political Thugs, Intimidation, Arrest Of Delegates Beclouds Lagos FA Elections: Delegates Seeks NFF Intervention.

As Lagos State Football stakeholders prepare to vote in the upcoming Lagos Football Association Elections, some Stakeholders and delegates have warned the former APC Secretary Fouad Oki and his allies not to see the exercise as a do-or-die affair.  This warning became necessary after series of Intimidation and bullying were witnessed at the last LFA divisional elections, held last week, where delegates were arrested by the Chairman of the Lagos Coaches association, a well known loyalist of Fouad Oki. The Chairman of the Lagos State Coaches Association, brought in fake Policemen to arrest some delegates unjustly, alongside some well known sponsored political thugs, thereby causing havoc and mayhem, which disrupted the ongoing exercise. Ahead of the 2023 Lagos Football Association (LFA) elections, a major Stakeholder of the Football body has said delegates and football loving Lagosians cannot afford to give their votes to a candidate known to be a 'Greenhorn'.  The top Stakeholder made the assertion while  addressing a meeting which heralds the Lagos Divisional Football Association Elections, which will come up today, Wednesday, May 17 2023 at the secretariat of the Lagos State Football Association, Surulere. Undue Intimidation And Political Interference May Mar Lagos FA Elections, As Top Stakeholders Raise Alarm.

The 2023 Lagos State Football Association Elections has been thrown into jeopardy after an alleged Government interference from the Lagos State Sports Commission.  Some top officials and delegates of the Lagos State FA on Sunday noted that the top hierarchy of the Lagos State Sports Commission have been meddling in the coming FA Elections by trying to impose and post secretaries into the various divisions, a plan that is being allegedly muddled up by the same body.  It was also alleged that the Lagos State Sports Commission has also put in plans to forcefully engage delegates to vote for the former Secretary of the APC in the State, Fouad Oki as Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association.
