My aim is to be World Champion, Represent Nigeria At The Olympics -- Boboye

Bayelsa born Double gold medal winner at the just concluded U-19 ITTF African Championship in Tunisia, Samuel Boboye has said his aim is to be world  champion in the future.

Boboye made the statement during a reception held in his honour at the Indoor Sports hall of the Samson Siasia Sport Complex to welcome him back to the state after a victorious outing in Tunisia.

Boboye attributed his victory to hardwork and thanked God for making it possible for him to win two gold medal at the tournament.

The 18-year Old Samuel Boboye who hails from Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa state also used the occasion to thank the Chairman of Bayelsa state table tennis Association who also doubles as his coach, Mr Ama-Ebi Ebikpolade for his support and for making it possible for him to attend the championship.

Boboye added that he is already looking forward to the National Sport festival in Asaba later this year as his aim is to clinch all gold medal for team Bayelsa in the table tennis event adding that he hope to represent Nigeria at the Olympics and be world champion in the near future.

Samuel Boboye used the opportunity to advised upcoming table tennis players in the state to be humble and always believe in themselves as they strive to be the best.

Samuel Boboye and Matti Taiwo dominated Africa in the just concluded U-19 International Table Tennis Federation ITTF championship in Tunisia.

Nigeria halted the dominance of Egypt in the team events of the 2022 ITTF Africa Youth Championships as the West Africa team claimed the boys’ U-19 title at the expense of the North Africans to earn Nigeria a place in the 2022 ITTF World Youth Championships WYC.
