DATE: 11-03-2026 VENUE: Santiago Bernabeu TIME: 9PM   _Written by Ebi Appah_   Death, taxes, and Real Madrid going up against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League. Some things are just inevitable. Once again, these two heavyweights will do battle in the knockout stages. These teams have gone up against each other in knockout ties in the past four campaigns. This will be the first time that two sides have met in the knockout phase of the Champions League in five consecutive seasons. So, there isn’t really much new for City to learn about Los Blancos, or vice versa. It is second in La Liga versus second in the Premier League, too. Pep Guardiola’s team were knocked out by Real Madrid in the play-off round last season, and they have already faced off this term, with City winning 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu in the league phase. Both sides seem to blow hot and cold this season but City look more consistent compared to Real Madrid. The last man to keep a clean sh...

DATE:11-03-2026 VENUE: Aspmyra Stadion (Bodo) TIME: 9PM   _Written by Keme. W. Biu_  Norwegian Eliteserien team Bodo/Glimt host Portuguese Primeira Liga club Sporting in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie at Aspmyra Stadion, with kick-off set for 21:00 on Wednesday 11 March. The standout surprise of this season’s European elite, Glimt have taken the competition by storm in their first foray into the Champions League proper, a journey that has already featured a series of giant-killing acts. The Super Team once again defied the odds to eliminate last season’s runners-up Inter Milan in the playoffs after defeating English giants Manchester City (3-1) and Atletico Madrid (2-1) in the League Phase, while the Portuguese visitors secured direct passage to this stage of the competition. DOMESTIC FORM Bodo/Glimt, with an impressive record of 43 wins out of 69 matches this season, has secured 3 victories in their last 6 home games in the league. On the ...

DATE: 11-03-2026 VENUE: Parc De Prince TIME: 9pm   _Written by Azi Junior_  The French giants and defending champions of the UCL host Chelsea at the Parc De Princes and it’s a game that comes with so much anticipation on the side of fans and somehow this feels like the repeat of the CWC finals where the blues had a memorable 3 nil win over Luis Enrique men, so interestingly we all expect PSG to come into this game with revenge in their minds and it promises to be an interesting encounter. Looking at both sides on current form I think they’ve struggled in their last few games domestically and so it’s a bit difficult tipping a favorite going into the game, but that notwithstanding Chelsea would likely come into the tie feeling a bit more confident because of what they did the last time this two sides met but in football no two games are the same. PSG on the other hand had an impressive record against English sides last season when they went all the way to win the tro...

DATE:11-03-2026 VENUE: BAY ARENA, GERMANY  TIME: 6:45pm NG   _Written by: Francis Joseph_  2002 Champions League finalist Bayer Leverkusen host Premier League Leaders Arsenal in the round of 16 of the Uefa Champions League, the Gunners came into this match seeking to continue their impressive European form this season which saw them win all matches at the group stage and topped the UCL league phase. For Bayer Leverkusen, they should be well aware of the threats their illustrious opponents pose both on the offensive and in set-piece play and am sure they would want to give little away in terms of threat from the Gunners set-piece especially as they are at home in the first leg. Surely arsenal are the favourite heading into this tie but i see Leverkusen doing a kind of damage control game, they would try to stay in the game going into the second leg at the Emirates next week while giving themselves a chance to cause an upset against arsenal in the return leg. *T...
