At the SWAN thanksgiving service which held at the redeemed Christian Church of God, Breakthrough Parish off Osiri road, in  Yenagoa, the officiating Minister, Welman Donald speaking on the  sermon, titled " Arrows in the hands of God"  described arrows as  weapons used to fight against satanic powers. He stated that, arrows are instruments of war and admonished youths in the congregation to live a purpose driven life that will add value to the body of Christ. Sports Festival: Bayelsa holds athletics trials on Tuesday

The Bayelsa State Athletics Association has concluded arrangements to hold a one-day trial for athletes that will represent the state in various track and field events at the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The open trial will hold on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024 inside the main bowl of the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Ovom, Yenagoa from 8am to 6pm. Athletes will compete in the 100metres, 400metres, 800metres, Long Jump and Javelin events. A statement by the Secretary of the State Athletics Association, Tariye Jackson Bidei, indicates that there would be morning and evening sessions to cover for the preliminary rounds and the finals.
