NPFL: Mizo Target More Goals for Bayelsa United

Hananeel Jackson Bayelsa United forward Robert Mizo says he is hopeful of a productive campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) after a brilliant start to the season. Mizo's five star performance last Sunday earned the Prosperity Boys 2-1 victory over visitors Wikki Tourist of Bauchi with the striker registering a brace for his side to increase his goal tally for the season to three with two assist. The striker in an interview, said he was elated to be in the score sheet for Bayelsa United having scored in the opening fixture against Dakkada Fc of Uyo, noting that his target for season was to help the Aiteo champions finish in a respectable position at the end of the season. He noted that the win against their group B opponent Wikki Tourist has awaken the spirit of the players, pointing out that his target is to score more goals in the league as they prepare to face Lobi Stars Football Club in Jos this weekend. Malafakumo produced an outstanding display in the National Sports Festival amassing a total of four medals, two gold, two silver, a performance that earned her an international invitation in Scrabble. Malafakumo in an interview, said she was elated with the news of her invitation after her brilliant outing in the National Sports Festival in Asaba Delta State, stating that she is focused on qualifying for the championship. The State contingent finished  second in the Nigerian version of Olympics for the first time behind host Delta, a feat that took the nation by storm having surpassed the record set in 2006 in Benin City Edo State. Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji, Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke-Sanni are among dignitaries expected to grace the Final Match of the third edition of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Cup.  The Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup Football Competition was initiated by Honourable Bamidele Salam in the year 2020, to immortalize the selfless, philanthropic services of the first civilian Governor of Osun State, who was a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and an astute Politician when he was alive. The Prosperity Boys announced its return to the NPFL after seven years in the wilderness of Nigerian club football following a 2-0 victory over Cynosure Fc of Abakaliki last year having finished top of the group B2 of the National League NNL. The Osun FA Team and Ila United sealed their qualification into the Semi-Finals of the ongoing Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup on Thursday at the Osogbo City Stadium.  Osun FA Team, got past the more experienced Orolu United team 5-4 via penalties, after a highly tensed game that failed to produce goals in regulation time.   Osun FA Team will now meet the winner between Ilesa East and Ede South, a game that would be played on Friday at the same venue by 10am.
