Prosperity Cup: Opume Bags Quarter Finals Spot After Beating Okoroma Tereke FC On Penalties

In a rescheduled Round of 16 Match at the ongoing Prosperity Cup, Opume at the Samson stadium, Yenagoa defeated Okoroma Tereke FC 6-4 on penalties to advance to the quarter finals stage.

The game started on a lively note as just on the sound of the referees whistle, Opume had a chance to take a one zero lead but they mised there chance.

Opume continued to control early proceedings but in the 10th minutes of play, Okoroma Tereke FC thought they had taken the lead but the opume goalkeeper was on hand to save his side.

Opume will continue to have chance but where unable to convert and they where made to pay for there missed opportunities in the 22nd minutes when a pass found Christian Emmanuel who scored to give Okoroma Tereke FC the lead.

There lead will not last long as opume got the equalizer almost immediately in the 25th minutes through Jasper Ibe.

Opume will continue to have more of the possession as the half went on and duly got themselves in front in the 34th minutes through Kenneth Ambrose. They held on to take a 2-1 lead at half time.

The second half of the game was less lively like the first as opume sat back trying to defend their lead, offering little or nothing to Okoroma Tereke FC.

As the game wind down, Opume had a chance to seal the victory in the 70th minutes but a shot saved by the Oporoma Tereke FC goalkeeper in the 70th minutes.

That save will prove prove vital as Okoroma Tereke FC got there equalizer in the 75th minutes courtesy of a well taken team goal through Emmanuel Christian, his second of the day.

With no more goals to decide the winner at full time, it went straight to the lottery of penalties and Opume emerged victorious by winning 6-4 on penalties.
