Newly crowned Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions, Rivers United on Sunday created a new record in the NPFL after there victory against Kano Pillars.
Rivers United FC broke and created a new record of points won by a league champion.
The highest point recorded by a league champion was Dolphins Football Club in the 2010/2011 season with 73 points, with there win over Kano Pillars FC rivers united now have 74 points with two matches left to play.
Meanwhile, Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries where confirmed relegated after loosing to Niger Tonadoes by two goals to one at home.
MFM FC have been in the top flight for six season before there relegation this season.
