FIBA World Cup Qualifiers: D'Tigers Loses Second Consecutive Game To Cape Verde

Nigeria's D'Tigers on Friday in the Fiba World Cup Qualifiers lost to Cape Verde 79-70 at the Kigali Arena, Rwanda.
It was a keenly contested game in the first quarter as D'Tigers won it by 15 to 14 points but the second quarter would prove the winner for Cape Verde as they topped Nigeria's D'Tigers by 25 to 11 points.
It prove to be the winning quarter for Cape Verde in the encounter as they where able to manage the remaining last two quarters of the game to secure a 79-70 victory.
For the Cape Verde, Tavares led them with 15 points and 13 rebound while Almeida added 14 points and 13 rebound with 7 assist. Christian Mekowulu scored the highest point for Nigeria's D'Tigers with 13point and 13 rebound, Chimezie Metu added 10 point, 10 rebound, while
Uche Iroegbu got 12 points.
Cape Verde have now beaten Nigeria twice in a row in the ongoing FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and sit top of the group with 6 points and two defeat, same as the D'Tigers who occupies second position.
D'Tigers will take on Mali in their next game on Sunday.
