Breaking: Bayelsa United FC Go Top Of Group B2 Following NNF Ruling
Bayelsa United Football Club have moved top of the log in southern conference in group B2 of the 2021/2022 Nigerian National League (NNL) season following a ruling in there away match against Ottasolo FC of Lagos in May by the NNF disciplinary committee.
The ruling read as follows:
DECISION OF THE NFF DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 7TH JULY, 2022 AT PARKVIEW HOTEL, WUSE ZONE 1, ABUJA
In the matter between Bayelsa United FC Vs. Ottasolo FC on the Match between Ottasolo FC Vs. Bayelsa United FC. The Committee Rules as follows:
FINDING:
1. The Committee found as a fact that The Nigeria National League issued NNL Circular 202 dated 13th May, 2022 to the effect that no club shall be allowed to use temporary licenses in the 2nd Stanza of the League. That defaulters shall forfeit 3 points and 3 goals to their opponents.
2. That on 28th May, 2022, Ottassolo FC presented players with temporary licenses for their match against Bayelsa United FC, hence a protest by Bayelsa United FC against the eligibility of such players.
3. That the Referee identified and prevented the 12 ineligible Players of Ottasolo FC from participating in the match but they forcefully joined the cleared Players while they were filing into the pitch of play thus leading to a serious fracas.
4. That Ottasolo FC player pushed a Bayelsa United FC Coach while raising observation on the status of the 12 players wherein the Bayelsa United FC Player intervened and this led to a chaotic situation, that resulted in the injury sustained by the Technical Officer of Ottasolo FC.
5. That due to the above, the match scheduled for 28th May, 2022 at Legacy Pitch Lagos, could not hold, it was therefore rescheduled for 8:00am on the next day being 29th May, 2022 at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
6. That on the said 29th May, 2022, Ottasolo FC presented temporary licenses for the 12 Players against the directive contained in the NNL Circular 202.
7. That the NNL confirmed that the licenses presented for the 12 Players by Ottasolo FC were not forged but temporary licenses which lives had expired and therefore not valid for the match.
8. That AR II, Ibemere Ifeanyi from Imo State was verbally abused by supporters of Ottasolo FC, while the Proprietor (Gabriel Davies) and some officials in company of some thugs assaulted the said AR II in the dressing room.
9. That Ottasolo FC allowed fans and spectators into the stadium in clear violation of the prevailing directive by the NNL to play her matches behind closed doors.
DECISION
1. That Ottasolo FC is hereby fined the sum of N1,000,000.00 for assault on the AR II, and the medical expenses inclusive. Pursuant to Rule 26 .1, NNL Rules.
2. That Bayelsa United FC is also fined the sum of N1,000,000.00 for assault on the Technical Officer of Ottasolo FC. Pursuant to Rule 26 .1, NNL Rules.
3. That the proprietor of Ottasolo FC, Gabriel Davies is hereby banned from all football related activities for One (1) year. Pursuant to Rule 26 .1, NNL Rules.
4. That pursuant to Rule 27.1.3 Ottasolo FC is hereby fined the sum of N500,000 in breach of the NNL directive to play her matches behind closed doors in compliance with Rule 16.4.1 of the NNL Rules, pursuant to Rule 27.1.9 Ottasolo FC is ordered to play her remaining matches behind closed doors in strict compliance with Rule 16.4.1 of the NNL rules.
5. That Ottasolo FC having breached NNL circular 202 dated the 13th day of May 2022 particularly paragraph 5 of same shall forfeit 3 points and 3 goals to Bayelsa United FC
6. That the above decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
